Dancing snow bears...

  • Ok.. I know the snow drifts are so big you can't get out the door till you dig out a little but you guys should have time for some gun projects. are you doing nothing? You should be at least planning a snow bear hunt before they go into hibernation.... You can use the brass grip frame to blind em then shoot their ass.

A nice snow bear rug in front of the fire? Do they wear them stupid hats in your area #'s guys? and how do they learn to ride unicycles like that? is it instinct?

  • Yep, fresh perch and walleye should be on the menu soon.

Altho I have a buddy that's never owned a handgun and is in the market for one. I told him come over when it gets back up in the upper 20's and we'll hit the Redwing range.

  • Honestly the temps are not the big deal to me so long as the sun is out and skies clear and there is not wind sucking the life out of you.

If I lived there I would have an enclosed porch that faced my range.

  • My front deck does face my range. But unfortunately it also faces the prevailing winds which today make it feel around -3 or so.

And that's -3 F not C for our resident frogs...

  • Ok.. today here it is about 58 degrees.. the sun is shining and there is no wind at all... in the house or the shade my t shirt is not quite comfy enough.. but in the sun or through a window it is quite warm... now.. take the same temp here and add even 10 mph breeze and it is cold as fuck.

IF.. I had your situation.. and the lovely mrs #'s agrees.. I would close in the porch with glass all around and screens.. the part facing the range would a window that moved out.

Obviously when the wind is blowing right at you.. nothing will work but when the wind is off to the side or no wind.. the glass will allow the sun to come through (that big yellow ball in the sky) and heat things up a bit..

  • Honestly there's not much difference between 58 and -3. You can't comfortably go for a boat or motorcycle ride at either temperature.

  • A Timbersled would be fun but three-quarters of the riding in this video is illegal in the state of Michigan.

  • You haven't experienced the beauty of riding until you done it sub zero.

I once did a poker run on snowmobile that was -20 without wind chill. It was fun but 5 out of 7 in my group got frostbite. But on the bright side, only 1 had to go to the hospital. Yeah, good times...

  • I rode 150 miles one time new years.. it was sunny when we decided to go by the time we got started it was dark.. I got to my folks house 3 hours later and my hands were numb.. cold water on em felt like it was burning.

the jacket I was wearin kept most of the rain off... levi's NOPE... water collected down around my crotch... not just COLD! FUCKIN COLD!

but I kept going... and kept the speed up around 70ish...

as I went along saw an old pickup truck turned over all the way the other side of 5 with some 55 gal drums strewn about.... with a CHP...

turned my head to look where I was going... while lookin straight ahead I was suddenly lookin at the pickup n CHP ...

looked to my right and there was the freeway... I was going down the freeway sideways... think them drums maybe had some oil in em?

VERY SLOWLY turned the bars to the right and slowly straightened out again...

stopped at the next station n got myself some coffee... AFTER I pried the seat off my ASS... :lol

“He that suffers his life to be taken from him by one who has no authority for that purpose, when he might preserve it by defense, incurs the Guilt of self murder since God has enjoined him to seek the continuance of his life, and Nature itself teaches every creature to defend itself.”

  • LOL wrag.. that is about how it goes in California. it can be nice and sunny T shirt weather then a storm rolls in. You always think you can beat it tho. Nowdays I am a sunshine soldier... I only ride short rides in the sun.

Still... If I lived in the great frozen north I would bring my dancing snow bear pelt along.
