Do any of you have any experience with them ? If so do you have any recommendations on a first model?

I was thinking of buying one recently to create a trackir clip. I couldn't justify the expense just for that so just ordered one like I have. But this one looks interesting and is pretty inexpensive.

I just got an older Airwolf Axiom printer from a friend for $1,200, so far I love it. The friend I got it from has been using 3 Axioms for probably going on 4 years now. While he has had minor issues now and again I don't believe you get out of those unless you jump WAY up in price range. And he has his printing pretty much 3-5 day a week. He only sold me this one to get the new one with a bigger bed.
And if you do end up getting one (no matter the brand) check out matterhacker for supplies.

Looking for hobby grade for the beginner.

Might want to check out an SLA printer. The accuracy is usually awesome and you can get the printers very cheap. The downside is size (very small printing area) and the cost of the resin is more expensive than "regular" 3D printers.
Maybe something like this.

Thank you I’ll have a look.

How is the mk 3for a beginner?

It's fine. More expensive but solid support.

Thanks but I did order one, a clip, not a printer. I also cut this out of hard plastic which I had decided to do before I ordered one. May or may not finish it.

That works. if you do need something printed, just let me know.

So I couldn't resist and bought an Ender 3D on Amazon. There's a few things I've been wanting to print and my grandson that turns 11 on Sept 8th has been after his mom to get one. I assemble it and turn it on. Menu appears on the display and everything looks good. Format an SD card (Fat32) and put a single .gcode (I think) file on it. It's for the TM push through AB detent. Turn on the printer and blank blue screen. Tried all the troubleshooting techniques for it from Creality and others. Pretty sure the mainboard is dead. Seems to be a common problem with these. Chatted with product support and they are sending me another. Was gonna send them this pic showing the power supply output is good but they didn't want it so I'll show you guys my one handed technique and 30+ year old mulitmeter. :biggrin

I was expecting a replacement motherboard but they sent me the whole printer. Rather than just swap the electronics I went ahead and assembled the new one and packed up the old and sent it back. I have a spool of black but was having trouble getting it to feed. Figured it out but not after I put the white that came with the printer. My first print job in the works, a push through AB detent for my Warthog.

That was hard getting the object off the board. I broke the object trying. Printing another. will have to try some of things I read.

Is it a glass surface? Usually you put a solution on the glass to help the print stick while printing. As it cools you can actually hear it pop and crack as it loosens up. Then it usually lifts right off.
Remember to check out MatterHackers for supplies.

It's not glass and not smooth.
I got this last print off okay though. Had to get out the dremel to get it like I wanted.
