You're right about the STDs, huge negative risk, on the other hand, younger guys like me were around when the little blue magic pills came out. Even if you didn't need them, using them now and then can turn anyone into a superstar, and getting script for them by simply making up some unproveable symptoms was super easy back then.
I was lucky I never caught anything. When I first was diagnosed with the colon cancer polyps and then SLE Lupus, they had ticked the boxes for HIV and everything else, Hep C, etc, and when the doctor was reading off the results my head was thundering. I was actually shocked to hear negatives across the board for the STDs, SLE can mimic a lot of HIV symptoms, very similar auto immune BS, and while I was single then, I lived in constant fear of being positive for about a year and a half until they finally figured out wtf was wrong with my health.
