Cannabis gives me great ideas

  • You'll blame her for the recession that begins well before she's elected.

That's because it will be her fault. Just as the notion of an Obama presidency sparked the last doozy.

Of all tyrannies a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies, The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their own conscience. — C.S. • Who was that udiot that was a chopper pilot... but then he washed out... but he posted pics of his woman on vacation... but it was just a stock resort photo....

But you guys are all assholes.

    Yeah... he's an engineer now...

    Dot... dot... dot...

  • Was that the one that liked tranny hookers?

"chump will assuredly lose 2020 barring an event that cancels the election - he just cant keep his scummy yankee mouth shut"

Chump is going to tote an ass kicking nov 2020

fact is it is within a year of the election, the Senate will not allow him to appoint her successor. Nov 2020 he will lose.

  • The latest polls show Buttigieg strongly leading Warren in both Iowa and NH, so Twat, you may have backed the wrong horse.

Could be- it's way too early to tell.

Ideologically, there's a lot I like about Warren. I dunno how much socialism we need in this country, but we need more than we got. Plus she cuts the banks no slack.

But as a practical matter... it's gonna suck in the short term at least if she's elected. Wall Street will fucking panic and sell as soon as they grasp that her win is very possible. Just like they did with Obummer. It'll be 2008 all over again... if we're lucky.

A lot of the rate spreads have just inverted again. The Next Recession will begin within a year. It may have already begun, and we won't know about it til the numbers are revised. The stock market crash tends to lag the GDP definition of recession, though if I knew by how much I'd be a billionaire. But this is deha vu. Not the same of course, but this looks an awful lot like Nov. 2007.

In the long run, we *have* to deal with the financialization of our economy and government. If we don't push back, we're gonna be Mexico in another generation or two. But that push-back is gonna be painful. And you cowards are living proof that most Americans don't have the stomach for it.

And frankly that could be ok for my particular situation. I'm an Evil White Male and getting older by the minute. I have a decent career and enough investments that I won't be hungry in retirement. We can muddle along in our current peasant-consumer form for the rest of my life, and odds are I'll be ok.

But goddamn. For those of you with kids, I don't know how you can look them in the eye. With what you've done to this country. Your kids and/or grandkids already owe their souls to the company store. And you blame them for the systematic financial rape that your generation put in place.

But you're welcome for the geezer-welfare :thumbsup

  • Fine, whatever.

I'd say that my opening post was one of those 'temporary epiphanies'. Which is not to say that it's of no value... but I don't literally believe a lot of it. I probably did at the time- more or less. But it wouldn't be an unreasonable guess at Tinyhand's strategery should 2020 be a repeat of 2008.

You fascists are stupid and spiteful enough for it to work. But do you have the ballz?

  • If Trump gets to sign that the dems will suddenly be against legalization. In fact... This will never make it out of the House just so they don't allow Trump the opportunity to sign it.

Im no doc, ya flea bitten varmint. Im Riff Raff Sam, the riffiest riff whoever riffed a raff

  • This is no surprise of course, but some of the ideas I come up with while high are... questionable. Inconsistent. Paranoid. And involve non-ordinary reasoning. So while some may well be of questionable *value*... none of those adjectives are mutually exclusive with 'great'. And therefore I'm pretty sure that Cannabis does in fact give me Great Ideas. It's just that lots of other ideas are produced as well... which may not meet the lofty standard of 'great'. But some might.

So it's not just that I (might) get great ideas... but can't be disputed is that I get *different* ideas. And coming from me, odds are they're not bad.

I know less about biology than most stuff, but still more than most people obviously. An ecosystem is like a closed system thermodynamic problem. It's about the inputs and outputs for the conditions you need to maintain... which of course can themselves fluctuate. So for an aquarium- to keep conditions within acceptable ranges- you need not only equal HEAT input and output. You need equal NUTRIENT input and output. That's one of the things people usually get wrong with fish... assuming they're smart enough to keep the fish alive long enough for that to become apparent.

But nutrient export *can* be subtle. There are multiple nutrient cycles, element cycles, whatever you call them in an ecosystem. I know the important ones of course for what I'm doing- oxygen cycle being the most immediate problem, and followed in importance maybe by nitrogen, phosphorus, sulfur, and so on. No doubt somebody with some actual training in biology would put me in my place where the details are concerned, but I'm pretty sure they'd agree with the theme.

Some of the subtle nutrient exports are driven by unlikely and slimy critters. Algae isn't just one thing in most cases. It's an amalgamation of all kinds of local algae, bacteria, protozoa, little bugs and shit like that. Critters like this are what ultimately breaks down proteins and ammonia into nitrogen. Anaerobic processes take care of the nitrate in nature- and to some extend in an aquarium depending on your setup. But once that nitrogen is in the algae... best thing to do is just get rid of the algae and let new stuff grow. That exports not only nitrogen- but all kinds of other nasties that I couldn't give you much detail on. But I know they're there. So long as exports match imports, conditions can remain pretty stable.

Societies and economies are a lot like biology. They're complex systems that naturally evolve toward an equilibrium.

Now, when I've tossed the algae, I've noticed that in a large and well-established system like mine, that there are also lots of little snails, crustaceans, even eggs/fry that get tossed with the algae. Now I used be kinda annoyed that I was throwing that out, rather than keeping these awesome little critters in the tank. But I was thinking today- that's actually far more efficient in terms of nutrient export than algae, bacteria, protozoa, fungi, etc. I think I was annoyed because I was placing a human-like life value on the little critters that moved, but not on the little critters that didn't move.

Our society is set up just that way. In several respects. Those tragic, weak and discarded awesome little humans are the nutrient export required to keep our First World Standard of Living... within acceptable parameters.

    God. Fucking. Damnit.

I already knew this on some level though. Parts of it at least, or in a different framework.

And speaking of framework. We all know that there are all different kinds of thinking. Even ordinaries like yourselves know that. We... well, psychologists, philosophers, and such... have tried all manner of ways to chop up and define it. So I'm not claiming to be correct here by any particular discipline... just saying this is how I see it.

Mechanical thinking. Not much explanation needed here- it's what I do naturally. I've rarely met anybody better at it than I am- maybe that Ukranian guy I worked with in France the other day, but that's hard to know in just two weeks- but suffice to say I'm damn good at it. And behold, it is a powerful way of thinking. It's what brought us the Industrial Revolution. It's damn useful for some purposes... but utterly useless for other purposes. Important, beautiful, purposes that humanity wouldn't be worth having without.

I was actually going to do in a different direction... but now I'm thinking of my Supreme Commandress who is upstairs working while I stone. She works from home most days now... ya'll wouldn't believe me if I bragged much further about her new job. I am goddamn lucky to have her. It's taken a couple of decades for her to shape me into what she wants... and for me to shape her into what I want... and for both of us to come to love- or at least put up with- what can't be changed.

In my first career I rebuilt more diesel engines- Cummins and Detroit mostly- than most of you tards have ever seen. It's a very useful way of thinking. But it'd never work for what She and I have.

  • Her mind is like a sports car. Mine is like a tow truck. She's twice my speed, and can swerve through changes in direction where I would've quickly run off the road and got stuck. But I can pull tons of weight. I can take hits that would total her, and I could cause a serious crash if not steered correctly.

Ok, so I'm more of a horse. And she's riding. But she can only steer me where I choose to go :spank
