Problem with Europe, when push comes to shove, it's like herding cats. Never will Europe act as a single unit, unless it is to let unlimited Muslims across their borders

Tinyhands wants to buy Greenland

At this time I'm pretty sure America is almost as divided internally. And with a greater immigration problem.
-
Well OUR military only has ONE leader.
(And unlike France in 2010/Libya, WE won't run out of cruise missiles in one night)
-
Who is that?
-
You could be right,GS. It sounds great for excercises.
The problem is who does what, who has what, and how the access and support of the what comes to those who need it when shtf.
Self preservation can make things that have many parts weak. I could see a polandish offering happening again for "peace in our time"
-
You mean "Czechoslovakish offering..." You philistine.
-
Well I am a -ski, so I get extra points off for sure.

I don't give a shit what other countries think of us... just make sure my grand kids live in the greatest country in the world.. no excuses.

Better get rid of Tinyhands then.

So Europe and the US spend about the same total... Europe a little less probably even with most of that "rest of the world" also being Europe. However, expenditure and capacity are not the same. Most of Europe's military is dormant and only spend money on upkeep and training. Also Europe does not need to pay for a huge navy just to get anywhere. Nor is Europe fighting half a dozen wars at the moment, except with token forces.
While America spends more $$$ on its military, Europe have more planes and tanks and soldiers in total... Not that we would go to war over Greenland, so go right ahead.
Inaccurate on virtually every count. Europe does not pay "a little less". they pay about 1/3 (according to that chart) or optimistically up to 1/2.
You're also trying to throw numbers up in the face of reality. The US spending is because our military is actually doing something... always. The deployment, training and activity is greater than all other countries combined. Buying stuff and letting it sit does not make your military stronger. Buying something that you hide because you don't want it to break does not make your military stronger. Buying something that you cannot afford to maintain does not make your military stronger. Buying something you cannot afford to operate does not make your military stronger.
The things that make your military stronger are based on preparedness, training, infrastructure and training. There are no countries or continents that come close.
So, hold on to your pie charts. You can hide much better in them.

we would if I were at the helm.

Euro nations listed I get B$239. Add the 'rest of world' slice and it sums up to 532 B .
As for total aircraft: https://www.globalfirepower.com/countries-listing.asp says
Russia 4078 France 1248 Turkey 1067 Italy 831 UK 811 Germany 613 Greece 566 Spain 522 Poland 469 Sweden 206 Finland 200 Belarus 197 Netherlands 161 Belgium 158 Norway 135 Total so far 11262 USA 13398 That's if you want to fight on Russia's side.

Holden's pie chart that I responded to. Why can't you keep these things straight? Take it up with him.

You're the one that misread it.

Ok... so if greenland said it wanted to be a territory of the United States ... the danes would be cool with that?

Happy to trade them Puerto Rico

Yeah... I think Trump is working on that angle...
