Good movies anybody?

  • Violent Night, on Peacock. Basically a very jaded Santa Clause (the real Santa) is barely hanging on to his motivation to continue when he gets stranded in the middle of a hostage situation at a posh family home. A little girl asks for his help to defeat the "Naughty" bad guys.

It was great! Good fun. Good violence. Surprising amount of gore. And a lot of actual wholesome moments, too.

  • Thanks for that review. Might watch it Saturday.

  • Upgrade, on Peacock.

A man and his wife are attacked in the near future. She's killed, he's paralyzed. So an acquaintance / client of his offers to give him an experimental chip to bypass his severed spinal chord. But there's a problem... The computer chip begins talking to him.

Very good! Enjoyable. Though it occasionally delves into hardcore gore seemingly out of nowhere. Not necessarily in a bad way, but it goes from 0 -> 100 -> 0 real quick.

  • Read two dead guys arguing about a shitty movie.

  • Amerigeddon. I think it's by Alex Jones and he stars in the movie. It's definitely a conspiracy movie. However, Alex Jones has been right numerous times.

The plot is to destroy the United States so they can depopulate the rest of the world. It seems they want the population down to 500 million. They have quotes from several presidents talking about globalization with Obama saying the population is pretty stupid. He didn't use those words. It's a good paraphrase though.

It also seems they passed a bill that if a state of emergency is declared they can get rid of all of your rights.

I watched only a few minutes of it. It's depressing! I may continue watching; I'm not sure yet.

  • Look at it this way. You cannot kill me for I am already dead.

  • I watched "News of The World" with Tom Hanks. Really enjoyed it. Tom Hanks is a Civil War veteran that travels to towns to read people the news of the world. I liked the concept.

In his travels he runs into a wagon that was hauling a little girl back home. Someone killed the driver and apparently the girl escaped. Things don't go well and he ends up taking the girl to relatives. There's is much chaos in between.

    It is worth the watch.

  • I just watched 'Babylon' being born in Lost Angels makes me always makes me watch anything set in the early/mid 20th century and put on screen... Also... got a firestick and hooked it up to my old plasma TV in my bedroom.. This TV typically will go almost a year without even being turned on LOL... I also have a 5g network. The TV? Panasonic with HDMI ports but no Wifi... .. also.. came with a 30 w amplifier and 'surround sound' thing. think it is 47, 50 inch? thing kicks ass on modern TV's Firestick? It is the hot setup. voice commands.. even switch inputs by voice.

Anyway... Babylon is fantastic.. it is a comedy... mostly... Hedonism on display as only 20's and 30's studios directors and actors could do... 'Great Gatsby' parties fueled by mountains of cocaine and people too rich to give a shit lots of nudity and gratuities sex also touches on what it was like for the folks who moved to California for the dream... course... the end was inevitable and depressing.
