Censorship continues (NZ attack)

  • That didn't take long. Now in NZ and it appears beginning in the UK and some rumbles even here in Canada, if you have a copy of the video, post it, distribute it, even discuss it in terms the government dislikes - you're facing jail time.

Not only that, but New Zealand has had all ISPs ban Dissenter, ZeroHedge, and a bunch of other non-leftist sites overnight now too. Read the link, as I didn't copy/paste all the pics/tweets, they are important.

  • That's the second time I've heard about Zerohedge being banned for some reason...wtf? They're a financial site, for the most part

If politicians only got paid according to their district's economic success, there would be no more Democrats.

  • Once something is out there it is impossible to shut it out... not like the good old days where you could just burn a book...

  • Telstra and Optus are now starting to censor sites that hosted the video or discussions about the shooting.

I may have to start using my VPN 24/7 soon

  • I don't like the government telling me what to post, but personally, I put the NZ Mosque shooting video in a similar place as I would place child pornography.

You would be trading on the victims for your own purposes: that is disgusting.

  • It just is holden. it is out there. you can watch it or not. I think child porn... child anything is different.

Sooo.. horrific? sure. but is it worse in some way than a vid of a liquor store hold up where the holdup guy is shot or several are shot? these are out there... they at least have SOME value as a training aid for the sheepdogs of society vs the wolves. Same for this.. it is a training vid.

Take aways... be armed when you can.... never go where they won't allow you (or others) to be armed. Playing dead works sometimes... sometimes it does not. the lessons are pretty much endless.

A certain mindset will see this as entertainment.. another group will see it as lessons. but no one can deny that it happened and will happen again.. be ready or not... choice is yours.

My thinking? what I was thinking? LOTS of times I coulda got that asswipe.

One video showed two more shooters and I think if that is true that is behind what 'they' are obscuring?

  • the controversial Turkish president Erdoğan used the video of the New Zealand massacre during an election rally.

According to the New York Times, Erdogan used an edited version of the video at least three times to “galvanize support among his Islamist followers ahead of local elections at the end of the month and criticized the Turkish opposition as weak.”

I would love to see anyone of the western nations spank him for this.

    Hahahaha ain’t going to happen.

Rules are only for us Sheep

  • To me there isn’t..... killing is killing.... besides this guy is probably at war in his head.

My dad was in one of the last classes of UDTs in WW2. He went through BUDS when Okinawa was being taken.

His life was probably saved by the destruction of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and the end of the war.

Paul Tibbets and Harry Truman were not evil, the asshole in NZ is.

  • CENSORSHIP?!? FFS.

This video is no different than child porn. Hell... it's fucking worse. Filming it, distributing it and watching it should be a fucking crime. It's painful to watch people stroke off as they analyze what he did wrong, what the victims did wrong and how differently things could have been as if it is a fucking football game. They are right to "censor" it. You are wrong to celebrate its existence.

  • The chances of anyone going to jail for it is crazy slim...if you we to be some extremist movement they would probably do something to you.... it is all for show...to help with the solidarity within the country..... it is not that it happened...it is that it is just not what we ware about....we hate just like everyone else...but we don't usually do things this way...it is mainly done on the street with fists and bats and knives..... even the white power has gone fuck me...what a meathead over it.... the guy is in trouble.... he isn't safe on the street or in jail...... it is just the people we are..... we may not have all the big guns and shit.... but fuck with our way of life and we will rip you a new one hahahahaha

I agree with Dave 100%. There are some things we aren't allowed to share, as there should be. Also, from a legal standpoint- since we're talking about legal vs. moral once again- I'm not sure you have Carte Blanche to post whatever you without without regards to the wishes of the victims and their families.

  • Soooo.. the vid of a real life event should only be showed to government agencies as a training film?

    And no..................it has............nothing.........to do...........with child porn. unless u are a sick fuck.

  • When I said censorship in the title, it wasn't specifically about the video or sharing it, or even watching it - it was about the government and ISPs blocking access to sites like ZeroHedge, Discord, Dissenter, etc. I said specifically that those sharing it or possessing it knowingly in NZ were facing charges and jail time, as per the government statements. I don't personally care as much about what they do with the video from a legal standpoint, but when the NZ and also now the UK government start criminalizing talk, and limited access to certain sites - that's fucking bullshit, and has nothing to do with "falling for the murderers plan" or any other BS, that's the government taking advantage of the situation to further limit free speech, and access to information.

Same as the whole "worrying about the victims and their families". Where were the "victims and their families" when video of my company's convoy getting hit by vbeds, and guys getting blasted apart on the internet? Or AH64's mowing down 100 Taliban fighters with 30mm gunfire. Do we really want to go down the path of which victims are worth "protecting", and which aren't? What's the difference if it's in a non-declared war (which is every war in the last 50 years), or the actions of a criminal? Fuck that.

I do agree that watching the video, and especially sharing it around, is giving the gunman exactly what he wanted, and I can support not watching/sharing it on that basis. However being told by the government that watching something like that is illegal, and that jail time is the punishment for that - FUCK that. Or worse yet having the government limit access to sites where the shooting is merely being DISCUSSED - double fuck that. Where does that start and end exactly. Again, why is watching videos of non military contractors getting blown up or shot in a non declared war zone "ok", and not criminal, while watching criminals shoot people somehow IS not "ok". See where that is going? Do you truly want the government to be able to censor information based on the criminality of the event? At what point is lumping violent criminal actions in with child porn criminal actions going to take place? Where is the threshold? Seeing a cop illegally shoot an unarmed victim in a video - is that now going to be censored too? Where is the line? Personally, I don't want any line, and want the choice to be in my hands, not the governments, so far as violent actions go.

If Airhead or MiniD woke up today and couldn't access this site, or any other discussing this subject, you would all be wailing bloody murder - and that's exactly what's happening in NZ and somewhat in the UK already too. I understand the controversy and disagreement about the video itself, but banning access to sites for just talking about the incident - I know you guys can't be on board with that, and that's my primary area of concern both now and in the OP.
