It's not the same without that engine sound
Apparently Honda has hooked up a PA system to their cars, and plans to broadcast real engine noises. Here's a sample:
I was pissed off the first time I watched Formula E. The play by play announcers wouldn't shut up and let me listen to the e-car sound.
Don't forget that a bunch of F1 teams, and F1 Drivers and a lot of LMP teams are ditching their old classes and going to FE.
But there's just something so unappealing about stomping the throttle and just getting an electric whine.
Well, yeah. An F-1 hybrid is a $15 million, 230 mph car. A F-E battery car is a $500k, 160mph car. It's a hell of a lot cheaper to run and pulls as many viewers as IndyCar. It's a much more cost effective way to sell ads.
Electric ATV's would make sense I would think. one of them roll out solar charger things too.

There is one out there but you can dam near buy an S model for the price or a nice place in snowbear land. And I would say these guys are sketchy at best. They took preorders on their eclectic semi which was supposed to be electric with natural gas turbines for charging the batteries. Then they turn 180 and said they were changing the design to electric/fuel cell. Then they sued Tesla saying they copied their semi when clearly they used Nikola for a company name so people would confuse them with Tesla.
even gas rig ATV's nowdays are getting into the $25k area.

If I were into the ATV thing I would build a dune buggy... they are pretty cheap to build.
