German Government Confiscating Houses and giving to Muslim Refuges

  • So it's bullshit either way? I'm ok with it? Really?

Of all tyrannies a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies, The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their own conscience. — C.S. With the assistance of the Institute for Justice, Coking fought the local authorities and eventually prevailed.[5] Superior Court Judge Richard Williams ruled that because there were "no limits" on what Trump could do with the property, the plan to take Coking's property did not meet the test of law. But Williams' ruling did not reject the practice of using eminent domain to take private property from one individual and transferring it to another, which would eventually be upheld by the Supreme Court of the United States in Kelo v. City of New London.

  • Are not property owners paid market value for their property in eminent domain cases? How are these German property owners being reimbursed for having their property confiscated?

The property owner doesn't have his property confiscated as he gets it back.

  • It doesn’t matter whether you are for or against the refugee program in Germany. If you live in Germany, your home could be taken from you to accomodate the refugees.

    That would be "accommodate".

The properties being "confiscated" are not homes, but empty commercial premises.

But that is bad enough. I'm glad I voted for Brexit.

"Spain is made up of 17 autonomous communities, the Canaries being one, so says the Spanish constitution"

    - Holden, who had failed to notice that the Spanish Constitution refers to the sovereign state, that being the KINGDOM of Spain. Just one of many examples of its name being abbreviated to "Spain" - incorrectly, in Holden's case.
