A photon is a carrier (or maybe just is) electromagnetic radiation. Not just visible light.
My physics classes were a while ago, but I seem to remember that photons are only a thing within the spectrum that we call light. But there is lots of electromagnetic radiation of higher and lower amplitude that isn't in the form of photons. That's my professional opinion as a heavy equipment mechanic.
All electromagnetic radiation is transmitted as photons. Light is just part of the spectrum.

Yes, they did. They were wrong. Lots of people were. That doesn't mean I dismiss everything else. It certainly wasn't just Einstein's work though, he just became the face of it. Just like calculus wasn't all Newton. Newton describes reality, Einstein describes reality, none of it is the whole story, and there likely is no unified theory.
