New management makes a bunch of stupid changes based on a lack of understanding of how the business operates. The business flounders for a few yeas and eventually fails. If the activist investors are good enough, they sell out before the failure is apparent to retail investors. That's how it's done. I don't know if the Elongated Muskrat has a plan to profit off the failure. But failure is definitely in the works.
