It was when GG left and all I did to draw his ire was to suggest that he might want to reconsider his position if more folks than not thought he'd been in the wrong. I suggested that his self respect might not be worth losing a friend over and I viewed it my duty as a friend to point that out.

What isn't my duty as a friend is to agree with him unconditionally on all things. Simply disagreeing with someone isn't the equivalent to a betrayal necessarily.

If that's opining with lazs bashing then I'm guilty as charged.
