A few years ago, one of you all had a keep break away from your class A. As I remember there wasn’t much damage but the keep went into the ditch.
I would like to know more of why that happened so that I can prevent it from happening to me.

What is a keep? I tow class A. I've had other vehicles slam the trailer causing breakaway at highway speeds on two occasions. Both times the chains held but I did sort of controlled end in the ditch. When towing I seldom exceed the speed limit and then not by much.
When towing I will accelerate or decelerate to stay away from tractor rigs to prevent a distracted and typically texting millennium moron to tag my trailer.
That's my prevention but I'm interested to read other examples.
A funny story. We have a bespoke 32footer that rides low. We utilize it to haul long gates. The rig is fully DOT compliant with lights and reflectors. Every time we roll unloaded it gets rear ended at lights. So far never more than a tap. I suspect the driver sees the lights and stops. Here people seldom leave sufficient gap between cars and when stopped immediately go to texting. As I move up with a light change the thirty foot gap is very fetching. BAM.
At a light in niggerville some JBicycling Boofer while on his phone tags the trailer and goes tits over afro landing on the trailer. He starts to monkey shine. I had to explain that if he didn't get his ass off of my property he was coming along for a high speed tour. The light changed I accelerated.
I'm surprised that didn't end up a video.
Auto correct Jack.
Some one was towing w Jeep in behind their Class A motor home and had it breakaway.
I want to do the same but I don’t want it to breakaway.
I'm thinking Canadian is a fern language.
I'm thinking Canadian is a fern language.
Should I get mi jefa to explain it to you?
Oh dear. They're feisty.
I don't ever remember reading of that here or the old FW site.
I didn't even know you needed a class A for a motorhome.
lazs

Class A is the type of motor home NOT the licensing of the driver.
I thought class A was a trailer between 5k and 20k lbs. In weight
Motorhomes have A, B, C, C being basically a large pickup with a camper frame on it
So the class applies to the trailer hitching and not the tractor pulling?
Apples and oranges I always thought.
Giddamnit.
So the class applies to the trailer hitching and not the tractor pulling?
Like Bj said.
Motor homes have three classes,
Class A is the flat front Winnebago style
Class B is a van.
Class C is a cut away van with a manufactured body.
CDL has its own class and they are A, B and C also…. But pulling the Jeep doesn’t qualify me for any increased licensing in AB.
Ah
I think hitches have classes, but they're numbers
No
