    I was okay with it at first. Mostly because I was angry at those who attacked us and the many others who were happy about it. I soon realized the potential for abuse. The reality is the government does what it wants whether there is a law allowing it or not.

    I didn't get crossways with lazs, he got crossways with me when I had the audacity to suggest that if more folks than not thought he'd done wrong (concerning running off Gina's friends) that maybe he should reconsider his position and asked him if his self respect was worth losing a friend over (Gina). A real friend should point out things like that in a polite manner, which I did.


    He's the one that went all crossways with me after I said that. I put him on ignore very soon after and if several folks hadn't mentioned his lies about me at the shindig I'd have never known. In fact, I've only made one post addressing him since that thread and it was in this thread where I told him off after PMing everyone else that attended the shindig.


    I've been friends with Iron for far longer than I was friends with lazs and I suspect that Iron and I will be friends throughout this life and into eternity. Have I supported Iron with my "reactions" (thumbs up etc) in his interactions with lazs, you damn right I have because that's what friends do and that shows good character, not a lack of it.


    *Edit* It was the jhery curl thread where he made his comments about my behavior at the shindig and not this one. I stand self-corrected on this issue.

    I still remember where I was when I first heard it on the radio. I remember where we were when I heard about the 2nd tower.


    I think going after Bin Laden was 100% necessary. I think taking down Saddam was also necessary. I never bought off on the whole WMD excuse as anything other than a thinly veiled excuse. I only regret we did not get out sooner.


    I think most knew that whatever the legislature did would work against America, not for it. The patriot act was a 100% bi-partisan attack on the US. That's what happens when you look to government to protect you from threats they are not capable of protecting you from. I wish the US would figure that out.

    As I mentioned before, the flagrant partisan acts of the FBI are not legal. The Patriot Act did not give them the right to do what they've been doing. Nor have they claimed it does. The potential for abuse is too great but I'm not aware of any specific abuse of it in the 20 years since it was enacted. Someone have an example?
