Her punishment is more in line with what the normal sentencing should be for the crime though in my opinion. She will never be able to teach again. She will likely never hold a good job again. She will have to register as a sex offender and be tracked everywhere she lives. She will be publically humiliated for life. She was sentenced to 10 years probation. And lastly the best part, she won't cost the tax payers a fortune sending her to prison for 10-20 years! This is how most of these cases should go in my opinion. She will pay for the crime for the rest of her life. The victim will get over it. It is just sex afterall. 13-17 year olds used to be legally married not that long ago. Now sex with a 17 year old is consider almost equal to murdering someone in the criminal court. The bad ones that should be locked up are the pedo's that go after young pre-pubescent children. Those fuckers are the real problem!

I think it should be equal. I don't think you get what I am saying. 20 years is a newer thing. It is a waste of resources (our tax dollars). I do think it should be equal. My viewpoint on this is a very libertarian viewpoint and I don't expect everybody to agree. She can pay taxes by working when she gets out and we dont have to pay millions for her or him if it were a guy to be in prison. The person that she had sex with was not physically injured and probably enjoyed it. Regardless she will pay for the crime for the rest of her life. More so if she commits another crime. My view is just common sense and reason (at least in my opinion anyhow).

If you beieve the cost to Americans for 20 year sentences for these crimes is worth it for America, I have no problem with that opinion. I was just sharing mine.

20 years would not undue what was done if it were my daughter. Why give her/him 20 years of free food, sheltor, TV, healthcare, educatione etc? Seems like most of these sentences are relatively brief irrespective of the offender's persuasion. In the absence of aggravating circumstances, of course.
