Paul Pelosi, the husband of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, will be arraigned Wednesday morning on a drunken driving allegation stemming from a May crash near the couple’s St. Helena area home, Napa County prosecutors have announced.

The arraignment hearing is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. in Napa County Superior Court, according to a statement from the office of District Attorney Allison Haley. Paul Pelosi faces misdemeanor charges of causing injury by driving under the influence and driving with a blood alcohol level over 0.08%.

Haley's office had announced June 23 it would file DUI charges against Paul Pelosi in connection with a two-vehicle collision on the night of May 28, on Highway 29 in Oakville.

We will see tomorrow.

It reads like the misdemeanor charges are seperate from the DUI charge. Either way, I'm sure he has a good lawyer.

It will cost him to do so.

Jail time would hit him pretty hard. Here mostly... no matter what.. you have to do community service. Basically pick up trash around the public buildings.

The punishment for the misdemeanor charges "includes up to five years of probation, a minimum of five days in jail, installation of an ignition interlock device, fines and fees, completion of a court ordered drinking driver class and other terms, according to a release from the Napa County District Attorney's Office.

DUIs are usually tied to misdemeanors unless someone is hurt... then it could go felony. Doesn't look like any card was played on this.

The real test will be if he has to put an ignition interlock device in his vehicle. That would crack me up.

no pelosi would ever drive again, but they will just use taxpayer dollars and have a jeeves drive them around

Pelosi was arrested following the crash in California’s wine country and entered a plea of not guilty earlier in August after he was released on $5,000 bail.

Pelosi did not attend the sentencing on Tuesday morning.

Pelosi received five days and had already served two. He had two more days shaved off for good behavior and will finish his sentence by participating in the court’s work program.

He will also pay more than $7,000 in fines, attend a three-month driving class and install an ignition interlock device and be unable to start the engine if he cannot pass a breath test.

Pelosi, 82, was arrested after crashing just north of San Francisco on May 28 around 10 p.m. California Highway Patrol officers found Pelosi behind the wheel of a 2021 Porsche Carrera and the other driver, 48, standing next to an SUV. The other driver, who has not been identified, later told the district attorney’s office he had pain in his upper right arm, right shoulder and neck the day after the crash and was experiencing headaches.
