Elite Dangerous

Looks like I'll be going on the road if I want to get my thrusters fully engineered. The Engineer requires a 5K lightyear distance traveled from home. That's distance away, not just traveled. I only have about 3100 LY distance away and since I'm close to home I have to do the full 5K. My Asp will do close to 50ly jumps so probably about 110 - 120 jumps outwards. Pretty sure I can self-destruct at the end of that and still get credit for all distance. Don't care about exploration credit.

Gonna need a good sound track for this trip.

Course plotted. Just over 5,100 LY. 123 jumps, not too bad. I can go just over 600 LY between fuel scoops.

Alright. Now to dirty up those thrusters.

Lots of hoops to jump through in this game though not too unpleasant and they can be avoided if you want the path less traveled.

I'm taking the path to ultimate power, like everyone else.

Decided to go back and check out the easy method of Imperial rank grinding with courier missions at NGALIN. Wow, must faster than the Federal rank grind. May go ahead and boost my rank to Duke and trade in my Type 9 truck for an Imperial Cutter.

Got my shiny new Imperial Cutter. It was a grind for sure but not as bad as the grind to Rear Admiral.

Thumbs down on Odyssey. I can't get through the initial tutorial because the cutting tool won't work properly.

10% left to go for Combat Elite. That's about 200 more ships to kill. Then I'll stop for a while. Probably not 5 years like before.
