Get ready to rumble!

  • iron... what do you not get? I don't give a fuck what you say some guy named Matthew said. You mocking my relationship with god is every bit as offensive to me as me mocking your christianity.

Look, if it were enough for us just to try to do right then God would not have subjected himself to becoming human, enduring temptation, and suffering a brutal murder. I wish it hadn't been necessary. Accept or reject this, I wouldn't deny you the choice if I could. Ignorance of this though is not your option.

  • Dietrich Bonhoeffer: “Silence in the face of evil is itself evil. God will not hold us guiltless. Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act.”

    Presbyterian Rev. Gilbert Tennant:

“He that suffers his life to be taken from him by one who has no authority for that purpose, when he might preserve it by defense, incurs the Guilt of self murder since God has enjoined him to seek the continuance of his life, and Nature itself teaches every creature to defend itself.”

  • I see an overturn of Roe v Wade as more symbolic than anything. Abortion will not be made illegal everywhere in this country, even to the day of birth. The federal government will probably fly any woman who wants an abortion from a state that says "no" or "too late" to one that says come on down.

I do want to see a Leftist "revolution" though.

  • The moment of conception thing is a religious idea not a scientific one.

I would partially disagree with this.

As soon as conception occurs something new has been created and growth starts. Growth is a sign of life. That's science, or biology if you will.

In the Bible it says God has known us from the moment of conception. That's where the religious idea comes from.

If I'm trying to show a Christian how abortion is wrong I'll use the Bible. If I'm trying the same thing with a non-Christian then I'll use science.

  • Wrag... Holden et all... I am good with 42 days having brain activity and being a human. Sooo... 42 days the last day of an abortion not being murder?

  • Barb could write a book about that shit. Her and younger sister were tossed into different foster homes (that makes sense) Little sister was raped the first night. The government knows best

When Barb and her sister were put into foster homes not enough care was taken to ensure they were being put with good people. My biological siblings and I went through something similar as Barb and her sister.

Even though the people who adopted me and 3 of my siblings were total shitbags at least there was food on the table and no dog shit in our beds or on the floors. Yes, my birth parents were that bad.

  • Holden. courts here work on the 'reasonable man' premise... you have heard of that? so in this case.... John Hopkins vs montana country doctor... A reasonable man would say that at 11 weeks say... the fetus was not viable without the best doctors in the world working 24/7 to save it... and even then?

  • Miniature one. The 'viability' thing is no more nonsense than the 'moment of conception one'

That is just wrong, lazs. Conception is the scientific start of life for a human. Nobody should argue this... ever. It is the only clear starting point. EVERYTHING between that point and birth is arbitrary. "VIABLE" is simply a conscience relief.

I'm not going to get into the strawman arguments over euthanasia or living wills. It is not even close to the same situation. A better argument would be in relation to discovered birth defects that would cause severely limited quality of life. Regardless... all of this is simply trying to wash the pill down easier. I am not a fan of that. Accept it for what it truly is.

It is, quite simply, ignoring one life in favor of another. That is all.

Of course, this would have absolutely no opposition if it weren't for the hidden low income birth control agenda. But that's a different subject.

  • I have not aborted my kids or asked for my grandkids to be aborted. I support the mothers decision so long as it is reasonable. meaning... early abortion or full term. I am good with that.

MOST a vast majority of Americans do not want to do away with abortion completely. I am in that group.

I would like to see some parameters established. and yes... I agree that they have gone way too far. 3 days.... 3 weeks... 4 weeks... 6 weeks.. lets let science decide for now. I also know that every woman I know or know of who had an abortion feels bad.

I will go to this. 'Krom' or my god may not have given us a son or a bible but he gave us a concience. Ignore it at your peril.

  • I also know that every woman I know or know of who had an abortion feels bad.

Could the reason for that be that abortion is inherently wrong?

I've seen a couple of women brag about their abortions but it seemed more like braggadacio with no substance to me.

  • Miniature one. a virus is a life. cancer is a life I guess. The 'start of a human' is not what makes us human. Viability means that without life support.... the mother... it can not survive This is what women are instinctively saying. Not every one but most.

what makes us a human? that is the question I guess. is it DNA that has the potential to be a living breathing human? So long as... the mother carries it to term........................OR.. it is plucked from the mother by doctors and raised in a petri dish?

Sooo how good are you with this? The mother of a 11 week fetus comes in and says I want this thing out of me. The clinic says.. "no problem .. we will remove it and raise it in a petri dish"

Would that be a good solution to you? OR.. is the mother needed for your argument to make sense?

I mean all that is needed is for you to vote for a trillion bucks or more for the save the baby fund

  • Sooo.. god giving us a conscience was not enough? what do you base god given rights on? the bible? the Koran? I believe we are born knowing what is right and wrong.

Are you saying that women... who bear our children.. know less about what god wants than you do?

I respect the churches (local) who say they will take any pregnant woman and care for them and then take the child and find it a home. is that what you guys do? seriously... do you? some of you are really well off. you could take 3 or four negro children. are you doing it?

  • Miniature one. a virus is a life. cancer is a life I guess. The 'start of a human' is not what makes us human.

That is nonsensical tripe. A virus is not a human life. Cancer is not a human life. A human life is the only thing that is a human life. It starts at conception. Everything after that is simply human growth. The only relevance birth, itself, has is differentiating growth in the womb from outside of the womb. Conception is the beginning of human life. No amount of smoke and mirrors changes that.
