It is a combination of common sense and common curtesy. I have built houses and am living in one I built. Kids would come in the closed in building and say things like "can I pick up nails?" sure... no one else is gonna. But that box of nails over there? you can't get into that.

We used to leave all sorts of stuff like 50lb boxes of nails and rolls of wire etc... no one took anything really. nowdays? them sites are locked up tighter than a drum including fencing around em. Go to a construction site and ask for scrap wood... use to be 'that pile over there... take what you want'

That’s what I was talking about. I don’t know if this house in Georgia was a renovation, I never went into a renovation, but wandering around through a new construction’s stud walls wondering what they’re gonna put here and “WTF are they thinking?” is kind of fun.

part of it was being remodeled, many of the family's belongings were still there
