Always want one of these, almost bought a turbo version,73 IIRC. They rotted so bad around here it just wasn’t worth it.

2002 Tii. A monster
-
Well not exactly a monster but a great road car. The turbo unit would bring big bucks these day as it was rare as hens teeth.
I really wanted the 3.0csl and there used to be one around but….big bucks… upside was it had an Ali body.
The one that was around had the rear “batwing”which I never cared for but if you had a IMSA version you likely needed it. Jackie Ickx drove the beast and said he could never run it at full boost…..too fucking fast!

Reminds me of the French Connection

Ya I think that was a 2800 cs, similar but not the same car. Was a big bmw fan, have several books on them. One of the books is all about bmw racing, the F1 engine was a stock 2000 cc block sleeved down to 1500cc and with a turbo almost as big as the engine.
They ran 6 to 7 atmospheres of boost…..or 80 plus pounds of boost. The Brabant bmw was a real beast, they use a 1200hp Dyno and it would peg the dyno so they never knew the max hp of the little stock block.

It is a 115mph all day long monster
-
The older 700 series were called giants killers because,as you said except it was closer to 90 mph but they never slowed down or needed to stop for fuel. Fugly tho.
Beemer did an homage
to the 3.0csl she’s a thing of beauty
-
115mph not floored All. Day. Long.

I've always had a soft spot for those 911's.
