A new heat shield is like 50 bucks, but it will take them 3-4 hours to replace it...
-
That's your best bet
-
Stick it back on with some Sikaflex auto. It will probably stay there longer than you.
-
That heat shield looks like it is some kind of figerglass or woven material?
Fucking Healey ... It would melt tennis shoes. I got some of the heat out with that mat you put under the carpet and some aluminum shields around the mufflers but it was always hot.

Just pull it off. It doesn't do anything anyways. Seriously. I had a rattler on my jeep (fucking road salt). I just pulled it off and never looked back. It hasn't burnt down yet.
-
probly sold it to someone in California and they burnt down half the state by parking it in the dead grass.

Look at the bright side. At least all the dead and undergrowth is finally getting burned. Only have to build new homes every 6 or 7 years.

It's just some waffle-textured aluminum.
-
it's a 4000 series aluminum
-
Ok...

Then can't they weld it back together? Unscrew the broken piece, hold it in place, weld it up, screw it back up?
-
It's soft enough but it would fatigue flex off pretty quickly.
Better to just get a new car.

Curly.. I owned a couple of 100/4 and a couple 100/6 The last was a 100/4 with the Chevy drive train that I put in.
All the 'stock' cars had the electric overdrive.. It really worked well... they were not dogs but the Chevy one? LOL... That fucker was flat out scary. I belonged to a modified Healey club. almost all V8 mods. several were modified somewhat like the one in the vid to look more 'cobra' like.

I loved my 63 AH 3000. Only issue was it didn't stop real well- at least not as quickly as a 74 Olds.
