I doubt they I will ever fully understand the fascination with necromancing.
Necromancers and Liches have discovered a way to live, so to speak, forever.

I see that weak USAAF crap, and raise you US Navy's P2V "Truculent Turtle"
The mighty Neptune
The mighty Neptune
2nd only to the Orion (the navy's best plane)
The Orion was an amazing ASW and recon platform. The P2V was the generation before.
There is one in private hands at FLL housed at the Former NAS Ft Lauderdale corner

There is one on Display at NAS Jax. One of the last versions of it with the two jet engines added.
I have a lot of time as shipboard air controller working with P-3's. Damn things could stay on station for an eternity.
A neighbor is a former P-3 driver. He has a funny story about being sent to display the aircraft at an airshow. They land, pull into their spot on the tarmac and the crew begins to distribute 2x3 baking pans underneath the sundry drip spots. Next to the mighty cold warrior were shiny, clean chairfarce platforms with crews snickering at weary work horse.
Exhaust streaks, imperfect paint... your typical working P-3.
After that two day they were back over the Atlantic standing long watches.
You have to wonder what the chairfarcers were doing.
The mighty Neptune
We have one (a former fire fighter) on static display at Kingsley field.

That is the difference between the Navy and the other services. The Navy NEVER stops doing it's mission across all parts of the service. The Army and Air Force don't seem to have much to do if we aren't in an active conflict. Especially the Air Force. Save for maybe some Elint missions.
Show off
wife was good to me this Christmas.
She was.
Ask her who's a good girl?
