Beware the Nov 4

  • The dark Web is a place normal engines, like Google and such don't access. Google scholar is an example of dark Web.

It's not called dark because it's seedy (but the seediness factor of the dark Web makes the public Web look tame), but because it's generally not public access. It's where a lot of serious information, scholarly papers are published for review, entire databases.. I once browsed through the inventory of the Nevada National Guard.. Why does the national guard need to have access to nukes BTW?

A lot of it you cannot access using a normal browser, you need to have it configured to use a different kind of protocol, and a VPN through proxy is highly recommended.

  • SD is correct, and BTW the old Flamewarriors site was 'dark web'. It's just stuff that isn't indexable by a corporate search engine or government crawler app.

This will be a crime one day soon enough, and the table is already being set.

    Presbyterian Rev. Gilbert Tennant:

“He that suffers his life to be taken from him by one who has no authority for that purpose, when he might preserve it by defense, incurs the Guilt of self murder since God has enjoined him to seek the continuance of his life, and Nature itself teaches every creature to defend itself.”

  • Dark web - you can use a standard browser all day long to view sites that are on the dark web (like the old flamewarriors site).

Remember that the term is being co-oped by the government - basically, they are calling anything that they don't have direct indexable access to, the "Dark Web". Like I said, they want this to be felony crime.

  • well... How else are they going to stop the terrorists??

Of all tyrannies a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies, The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their own conscience. — C.S. Lewis
