  • Yeah.. not seeing how capitalism has hurt me or you Twat.. but.. I can show you how the monkey boy hurt almost everyone.

  • I'm not an anarchist, but capitalism is a force of nature, not a system. Even if all humans were to disappear there would still be capitalism on this planet. Animals like squirrels would still forage and store food, and defend their property from those who wish to steal it. Predators would still lay claim to their hunting grounds and defend their property from intruders. Some primates even trade food and items for services, even sex work...

Wait... you think Capitalism and those mythological 'free markets' are the same thing?

Yes Virginia- there is a Santa claus :thumbsup

  • I have elements of capitalism and libertarian ism and republican in me.. maybe a little anarchism.... I doubt there is a thing in the current demoncrat party tho that I agree with.. I could be wrong tho.. they are all over the map.

Lemme say that again... I don't care. If. The accusations against Trump. Are factual. Or not.

  • That's why it's called free-market capitalism as opposed to crony-capitalism, which is just another word for corporatism.

"With the first link, the chain is forged. The first speech censured, the first thought forbidden, the first freedom denied, chains us all irrevocably."

  • Again the Norwegian gets it. The problem is that we Americans tend to think our system is free market capitalism. And it's not. Maybe to a certain extent but it is also corporatism at the highest levels.

Twat knows this he just plays the name game to ryle up the geezers.

What ya'll don't get- due to decades of highly effective Teabilly-preaching on Hate Radio- is that our corporatism IS capitalism. Capitalism IS corporatism. They're one and the same. Inseparable. Even if you started with something like the Free Market Fantasy- you will inevitably end up with a corporatist state. Run by and for the billionaires/corporations... with the rest of us an afterthought if we're lucky.

That's because money=power. The more money somebody gets... the more they will use that power/influence to skew every rule in their favor. It's just human nature... we'd all do the same.

And of course the less money somebody has, and the more desperate that person is... the more easily they can be taken advantage of. That's why you had 10 year old orphans running a loom for 20 hours a day back in the Victorian era. They'd do it again if only we let them (or if we were desperate enough that we couldn't stop them).

The only check we have on that power is our own force. Physical force (guillotines)... but more importantly, political force.

That's where socialism comes in. It's all that separates us from a neo-Victorian nightmare :thumbsup

Don't you love the fact that you could lose everything you own if you get sick?

  • The second amendment protects the people against corporate tyranny as much as it does socialist tyranny.

Not me. That isn't in me even one bit.

Lots of people have lots of money and they don't do that either.

I think that you automatically hate people just because they have money or inherited money. Why should you even care? You also said that you think they owe other people somehow. How's that? They already pay a shitload of taxes... and a lot of them have created a lot of jobs.

I think that people should get to decide what they so with their own money. It's no one elses business. I certainly don't harbor any disdain for wealthy people.

  • There is some risk to shunning socialism. going broke is one. but no one starves. Hell.. you got to be a real fuckup just to lose your home. and with a vibrant capitalist economy jobs are everywhere.

I am seeing people who have been out of work or were afraid to leave their jobs now moving to better paying jobs.

Socialism is a balm for the lazy and incompetent and a scare tactic used against everyone else.

  • Twat... you are such a drama queen when you are not loaded... real jekyl and hyde shit.

I would not have minded the old days where I built up the ranch for the kids and then kicked back on the porch while they ran it and spent my golden years watching the sunsets.

Instead? I had to live under this socialist system and my kids are all out just hustling to make a living and I can't afford a ranch and get this shitty socialist pittance to live on in my golden years...

  • What happens a big company like them files is that people like me will get 2 letters. The first will say they've filed and invoices from (x) to (x) are now invalid, gone poof. The second is the court order that says you have to continue providing them parts at the same price without interruption.

Well here's an update. Just got notice that orders are increasing by 30% which normally is outstanding. But in the back of my mind a little voice is telling me to keep them on as short of a leash as I can. Because it's not unheard-of that a company would increase orders to get more product inhouse before they file.

Now it's not across the board increase which gives me a little comfort. Because if it were all orders I'd be much more "leery" of it.
