I have looked in the Bible... and I can see NO WHERE within it Jesus or anyone else for that matter... condoning such behavior...

in fact IIRC Jesus said all are equal... free or slave... man or woman... are the same in his eyes...

think Christianity is based on love and forgiveness... and Islam... well don't seem to be much of those within it...?

Dietrich Bonhoeffer: “Silence in the face of evil is itself evil. God will not hold us guiltless. Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act.”

    Presbyterian Rev. Gilbert Tennant:

“He that suffers his life to be taken from him by one who has no authority for that purpose, when he might preserve it by defense, incurs the Guilt of self murder since God has enjoined him to seek the continuance of his life, and Nature itself teaches every creature to defend itself.”

  • Christianity, Judaism and Islam are all sects of the Abrahamic faith. They all pray to the same god, the god of Abraham, just in different manners. One more so than the other two...

    Here have some peace...

You have read the Bible you say... Are you sure you've read the whole Bible?

Chronicles 15:12-13:They entered into a covenant to seek the Lord, the God of their fathers, with all their heart and soul; and everyone who would not seek the Lord, the God of Israel, was to be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman.

Deuteronomy 20:10-14 : As you approach a town to attack it, first offer its people terms for peace. If they accept your terms and open the gates to you, then all the people inside will serve you in forced labor. But if they refuse to make peace and prepare to fight, you must attack the town. When the LORD your God hands it over to you, kill every man in the town. But you may keep for yourselves all the women, children, livestock, and other plunder. You may enjoy the spoils of your enemies that the LORD your God has given you.

Exodus 21:7-11: When a man sells his daughter as a slave, she will not be freed at the end of six years as the men are. If she does not please the man who bought her, he may allow her to be bought back again. But he is not allowed to sell her to foreigners, since he is the one who broke the contract with her. And if the slave girl’s owner arranges for her to marry his son, he may no longer treat her as a slave girl, but he must treat her as his daughter. If he himself marries her and then takes another wife, he may not reduce her food or clothing or fail to sleep with her as his wife. If he fails in any of these three ways, she may leave as a free woman without making any payment.

Zechariah 14:1-2: Lo, a day shall come for the Lord when the spoils shall be divided in your midst. And I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem for battle: the city shall be taken, houses plundered, women ravished; half of the city shall go into exile, but the rest of the people shall not be removed from the city.

Deuteronomy 22:23-24: If within the city a man comes upon a maiden who is betrothed, and has relations with her, you shall bring them both out of the gate of the city and there stone them to death: the girl because she did not cry out for help though she was in the city, and the man because he violated his neighbors wife.

Leviticus 20:13: If a man lies with a male as with a women, both of them shall be put to death for their abominable deed; they have forfeited their lives.

Deuteronomy 17:12: Anyone arrogant enough to reject the verdict of the judge or of the priest who represents the LORD your God must be put to death. Such evil must be purged from Israel.

Leviticus 20:27: A man or a woman who acts as a medium or fortuneteller shall be put to death by stoning; they have no one but themselves to blame for their death.

Exodus 21:15: Whoever strikes his father or mother shall be put to death.

Leviticus 20:10: If a man commits adultery with another man’s wife, both the man and the woman must be put to death.

Leviticus 21:9: A priest’s daughter who loses her honor by committing fornication and thereby dishonors her father also, shall be burned to death.

I could go on and on and on and on... Sad part is that some of you creepy fucks probably agree with some of these Bible passages.

"With the first link, the chain is forged. The first speech censured, the first thought forbidden, the first freedom denied, chains us all irrevocably."

  • That's all from the old testament. You'll have to ask the wily jews about that. Where the fuck is jeros?

Of all tyrannies a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies, The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for own good will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their own conscience. — C.S. Lewis

No, today they're very different, but still... Same God. Ever since the Roman Empire basically usurped and politicized Christianity (made it the state religion) it has been constantly changing to fit political realities. Islam usurped politics, so in Islamic countries politics change to fit religious dogma.

"With the first link, the chain is forged. The first speech censured, the first thought forbidden, the first freedom denied, chains us all irrevocably."

  • Actually "allah" is just the Arabic word for god. A god, any god. In Islam there are 99 names for the God of Abraham.

"With the first link, the chain is forged. The first speech censured, the first thought forbidden, the first freedom denied, chains us all irrevocably."

  • But you are right in that all the Abrahamic religions have based their god figures on older superstition. There's for example striking similarities between the Jesus-figure and the Egyptian god-figure Horus.
